Sponsored Walk...
Jean Parsonage has completed her walk for Francis House.
From May 28th through to the 4th June, Jean and three friends walked along the 100km journey of The St. Cuthbert's Way in Northumberland. The walk was sponsored, with the proceeds going towards the very worthy Francis House Children's Hospice.
Jean thoroughly enjoyed the walk, although it was hard work. One of the days was 15 miles, including two very steep climbs. Another day meant the group were walking from the moment they set, to their destination, in the rain. Needless to say they were very wet that day!
But it was all worth it, as thanks to everyone's generosity in sponsorship, Jean has been able to raise over £400 for the Children's Hospice. If anybody else would like to donate money, even after the event, that will also be gratefully received.
The map below shows the complete journey of The St. Cuthbert's Way, from Melrose to Holy Island. It is 100km (or 62 miles in old money) in total. That's no mean feat!
